Mixed Media Monday - Generations

Oh how I love Mixed Media Mondays. The themes are always so inspiring and Diane provides the theme for the following week which is so helpful when time is limited. These two canvases represent two generations. The top shows my Grandma, Ila, and the bottom my Mom, Karen. For both I used copies of handwritten pieces, transfers of photos, favourite colours, flowers and symbols that represent their lives.

Both are lovely tributes to these special women, and I love the surprisingly original contrast of the purple background in the first entry.

Your art is as beautiful as the women in your family. I love both, gorgeous. There is something to be said about the pure class women have shown through past generations!

PS. Your mom has a great name!

Hi Heather, Love the pieces with your Grandmother & Mother. Such beautiful women. I have tried several times to leave a comment with Gaby Bee but it just won't do it. Would you please let her know that I have tried several times. Thanks for your help. Hugs***Renea

Oh gosh, I was going to say, "is this woman a relative of yours Heather" to the first photograph because I could see a likeness!! As always, your work is inspiring and no matter the challenge you always meet it straight on with a delightful interpretation!
