Once upon a time when I was a little girl I would wile away Sunday afternoons lost in the worlds of books. I can remember sitting on the floor of my bedroom, my legs stretched straight out in front of me and a book propped on my lap. Whole hours would slip by while I read about the adventures and lives of other children and otherworldly creatures in fairy tales and myths. Some of my favourites included Robert Louis Stevenson's poetry, Alice in Wonderland, Emily of New Moon, The Moffats.....What books do you remember from your childhood? I'd love to hear. This is my entry for the Saturday Surprise challenge this week.

Hi Heather... what a memory jogger this is!..I used to love Enid Blyton stories...especially "The Faraway Tree", and it also used to be a series on the radio at 4pm every week day, so we sat down on the floor with our ears tuned in to the radio and our heads full of imaginary pictures for half an hour.I also liked "Cole's Funny Picture Book"...full of funny pictures, puzzles and interesting information...I still have a copy of it which MY children read and soon my grand daughter will inherit it.
Hi Heather!
This collage is truly delightful, and definitely transports me to a different time long ago...I absolutely loved Robert Louis Stevenson too (still do - I think I've memorized nearly all of his poems). Thanks so much for sharing this - a beautiful treat! Hugs, Peggi
