As you know, "stitches" make me nervous. I'm not sure why because I grew up with the whirr of a sewing machine. My mother would spend afternoons making clothes for us when we were children. I learned how to embroider from my grandmother and took my share of home economics courses in school. However, when I was asked to participate in a quilting project to benefit cancer research I became nervous and waffled on whether or not I could do it. The wonderful coordinator, Monica Magness, convinced me that I could and this is the result. I combined stitching with lots of fabric glue (a wonderful invention...hmm, I wonder if it works on hems). This is my entry for the Mixed Media Monday challenge this week.

What a beautiful work!!
I'm happy to tell you that fusible webbing works very well for hems, Heather! This is a beautiful piece of work. I'm a quilting drop-out. I was behind the door when they passed out patience, and the tiny stitches of quilting go far too slowly for me!
Wonderful piece and great colours! Love the Kelly Rae look alikes. Stitches, hm yes, sewing machines and me don't seem to like each other too much either, your piece is so creative and multifacetted (how do you spell that), love it!
