Didn't you always hope as a child that you were somehow protected while you slept? I always jumped quickly into bed and tried not to dangle a hand or foot too far over the side because who knew what lurked underneath. The dark brings with it a sense of the mysterious and the frightening. This little girl is blessed to have an angel to watch over her. This is my entry for the TGIF challenge this week.

Beautiful piece, Heather. .. and thanks for sharing your childhood memories. I think someone read "Little Orphant Annie" to you too many times -- you know, that line "and when they pulled the covers back, he wasn't even there" !
That is such a sweet sentiment and a lovely card, Heather! Have a great weekend...I know I'm looking forward to it after the week I've had! ~Lori

With being gone (again) and a crazy first week home, I've gotten so behind on everyone. But what an absolute joy to come by and see all of your glorious beautiful work! Such a visual pleasure and I have lingered quite awhile here soaking it all in!
Hope you have a great weekend!

I'm back! My kids just brought me the mail which was hiding from me in the other room and I found such a perfectly delicious gift from you! Wow, wow, wow! You are too kind and generous! It is beautiful and I love it so much! I'll be posting it on my blog and as soon as I get a little caught up, I'll be sending something your way too! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your lovely gift. It is so precious and will always be cherished!

Such a precious piece of heaven in your arch Heather, lovely details!
Bedtime was always a treat when I was little, it was story time and time to cuddle. I Loved it when my Mother would lift up the sheet and let it fall down on me like a cloud!
Thank you for sparking that memory!

Heather, this piece is so sweet & innocent, I love it! It's so funny you would mention the dangling of feet & hands over the bed...I was so afraid of doing that. I was never sure what was lurking under the bed either!
