I hear one of the feathered friends who lives with me scolding me for not feeding him as I post this morning! Life is all about a strict routine, you know! This started as a Christmas box with a snowman on the top and ended up a nesting box. Our neighbour has two sparrows who have started a family in his box. We call the male bird the "proud papa" as he fiercely guards his brood, attacking larger birds and squirrels who come near. The female travels back and forth finding food and stuffing it into the big open mouths of her babies. This is my entry for the
Mixed Media Monday challenge this week.

Great reuse of this box, Heather. You have a fantastic imagination!
I love the story that accompanies this piece. There's nothing like watching momma and papa birds about the business of parenting! Thanks for sharing, Heather.
It is so pretty. It's as if all those objects were always meant to be together. You are a wonder.
I'm still using my journal!

Ooooo Heather, (trying not to squeal), this nesting box is so so gorgeous, especially as I'm partial to bird related items lol, I love all the details to this amazing art work, thank you for participating in this weeks theme:)xo
How sweet is this? Love it!
How sweet! I love that it started out as a Christmas box, but now it's so different. I really like the door image that you used for the backdrop, making it look like the girl is standing outside of her house. ~Lori

Such a lovely story Heather and the whole piece is wonderful.
So gorgeous, Heather! Love your story about the birds - we have a pair of magpies here that we feed from time to time, and each season they bring their young to show off and get a free feed for :0)
I love this. Always a treat to see your artwork. The 3D effect you did is wonderful!
Fabulous transformation! Love the bird theme.
