"About Cooking" Pages

I hadn't really thought about the "essence" of cooking until I read this passage in a book. I did, however, have a sense that some recipes just seemed to "belong" to individuals. No matter how hard I tried to duplicate them, there just seemed to be something missing.....Mom's Gingerbread Cookies, Grandma's Shortbread Cookies.

Heather
This looks so vintage and so well done.
I also love your book holder.
The little girl is so cute and love the little utencils.
Great work !

Oh I so know what you mean. My mother used to make a dish that I loved and I've been trying for 30 yrs to make taste the same but it never does.

Thank you for that wonderful reminder.

You've captured the essence of a mother here, as well as the cooking bit. Beautiful work so expertly put together.
