Opus Gluei Challenge - Silver Screen

Mary Pickford has always been someone who has fascinated me. The fact she is a fellow Canadian is a point of pride for me but I'm also interested in her life and her career as a movie icon. I created this piece using this gorgeous and romantic image of her. The flowers on the left started off completely purple but, to my initial horror, some browned. I panicked and immediately made plans to replace them but as I studied the piece I realized that they added something to it....a feeling that there are two sides to stardom and that it can be very lonely and fleeting. This is my entry for this week's Opus Gluei challenge.

So pretty. I think she was so beautiful and tiny. You made a beautiful tribute piece in this. She looks like an angel.

What a lovely piece! It's so soft and romantic. I'm glad you left the flowers as they are. I think it gives it that just right aged effect.

She looks ethereal and romanticm and I am glad you kept the flowers just the way they are. I admit that I didn't know she was Canadian, but she is such an icon in the early years of the silver screen - great take on the challenge. Thanks for participating with us on these.

What a beautiful card! I really love your thoughts on the browning flowers, and I think they look great anyway. It just adds more dimension. ~Lori
