Mixed Media Monday - Recycle / Repurpose

I'm sure we all have compact discs in our stash. Perhaps they are from demos that arrived in the mail, music that we no longer listen to or blanks that just wouldn't work. There is something very appealing about their sturdiness and their round shape. I used three to create this autumn piece with a lovely poem to accompany it. The photos are from my stash of cabinet cards and I dried the leaves and affixed them with beeswax. This is my submission for this week's Mixed Media Monday challenge with the theme "Recycle/Repurpose".

Heather, this is beautiful! You're making me long for fall. It has been cooler here than usual. Quite strange for August in Atlanta. Maybe we'll have an early fall.

Very beautiful, and creative, indeed. Love the dried leaf idea. I've used green leaves picked off the tree, then coated with gel medium to preserve them, then painted. Your dried leaf with the beeswax gives a different effect, and it's wonderful. I LOVE your art, and need to visit your blog more often.

Those are cool.

I was in a cd swap a while back with six other people, and we all picked a theme and had a great time. Come to think of it, I still haven't made my own to go with what everyone else did for my theme. lol

How we sometimes get sidetracked....
