Well, I have been down and out with the flu for a couple of days and let me tell you, the squirrels that call my backyard "home" are not at all pleased with me. One stood on his hind feet on the fence outside our kitchen window this morning with a dusting of snow on his nose looking right at me shaking his tail. I took the hint and scurried out with the peanuts!
For this piece, I layered scrapbook papers, tissue and pieces of napkins using beeswax. The little girl is one of my "adopted relatives" from a vintage photo in my collection. This is my entry for The Three Muses challenge this week.

Hi Heather,
Sorry I haven't been by much lately...I'm suffering from a case of 'burn-out'. This piece is really sweet, and I love your squirrel story! How cute!

Beautiful rustic colors and earthy tones in this wonderful nature piece Heather- I've got tons of squirrels too (they are fun to observe though)! Hope you feel better!
Lovely collage, Heather.
Love your collage! Those squirrels can be quite bossy, can't they!!
it's my favorite work this week on Three Muses.
I just LOVE all the depths here.
and the clover on her head - brilliant!
love your entry heather! lovely colors and so sweet that you adopted that little vintage girl!
Heather, your collage is exquisite. I hope everyone takes the time to enlarge it because there is so much to be seen there. The textures are stunning. How lucky you are to have squirrel visitors! We don't have them in Australia and I have been fascinated with them on my travels abroad.
Sorry to hear you have been laid low with the flu. Hope you are better soon. Cheers, Marie aka Ozstuff.
I love this page :) !!!

This is wonderful, Heather! Beautiful texture and love her hat! Cheers!
Beautiful collage! I love that poem! And I've never tried beeswax myself so far - but I'm afraid I might have to now...
Love the layers of the background papers and the clover headdress, plus the lovely brown vine trim--very nice!
