Our backyard is like a three-ring circus most days. There are times that I look out there and there are "packs" of sparrows, grackles, mourning doves, blue jays, a nuthatch or two. They sweep in and out stopping briefly to feed or rest. However, if a crow makes an appearance, rest assured there isn't another bird in sight. Those fellows are imposing, self-assured yet very beautiful in their own way. These journal pages were created for a round robin that I'm participating in with the obvious theme for this book of "Ravens and Crows". They are my entry for the Three Muses challenge this week.

A wonderful collage of crows! I love the young birds nesting in a soft bed of shredded paper and a sea of colour. So beautiful. There is no shortage of crows in my part of the world and there is no ignoring them because they are so raucous but they are magnificent, shiny creatures and I TRY to love them, even at 4.30 on a summer's morning.

I love your crow pages, Heather. If you want to study them in depth, come to my city now. The pundits of the city have tried everything to get rid of the thousands who visit downtown every year for a couple of months. People are being asked to walk carefully on the downtown streets, and preferably to carry an umbrella.....YUCK! Much as I love them, too many are more than enough!!!
We've got bright red cardinals against snow in our yard right now, well when the cat isn't out, LOL. Beautiful artwork, I'm pretty fascinated by birds in mixed media right now myself. Have a happy day!

Heather, these are wonderful! It sounds just like our front yard.... those crows sure do rule the roost, don't they? The rook playing card is so hilarious - what an image!
