The Three Muses Challenge - Water
I always like when challenge sites give themes a week in advance. It gives me a chance to think about them and ponder my interpretations. When I read that "Water" was the order of the week from the Three Muses Challenge site, I knew that my submission would have to include the Titanic. I have always thought of water as very beautiful and very powerful. I love to sit beside it and swim in it while on vacation but at the same time I respect the fact that it has moods, some of which are angry and capable of taking lives. I've long been fascinated by the tragedy of the sinking of the Titanic and was fortunate to have the opportunity to hear Robert Ballard speak at the Ontario Science Centre about discovering the pieces of this great vessel on the ocean floor. He spoke as a scientist but also as a human and displayed a wide range of emotions as he described his journey of discovery.

Oh wow your collages are incredible.
Fantastic design and work. Love them.
Great works, Heather! Water is a powerful element, often dangerous, too, and you have dealt with these ideas fantastically in your collages.
Your Titanic pieces are great; heather!
Superb work here Heather. You are SO productive, what do you DO with all the pieces you make (I only ask because my studio is silting up with mine ...)
I love your result of the water challenge--great topic!
Great Titanic creation, Heather.
What a beautifully executed work of art, Heather! It is well thought out and designed and the colors are perfect for your theme.
Lovely work, Heather! I always do enjoy seeing your artwork.
Thank you, Heather, for these marvelous pages. The story of the Titanic is ever young, and your snippets have brought it very real once again. Water can be treacherous for sure. On vacation in Hawaii, my son-in-law was pulled under by a rogue wave which slammed him into the ocean floor and he surfaced face-down and paralyzed. Had his son not been near-by he would not be with us now. Fortunately the paralysis was temporary; and except for some nerve damage he's fine today, but this occurrence is not rare in the beautiful waters of Hawaii.
I urge everyone to enlarge both of these wonderful little pieces as there is so much to see and the lovely quote from a survivor deserves to be read. Gorgeous.
Amazing collage work that tells of a tragic tale at sea- very expressive work Heather!
both are beautiful Heather!!
Both are gorgeous, my favorite is the top one.
These are Gorgeous Heather!!
OMG, these are gorgeous and thought provoking. Love your interpretation of the theme!! Fantastic compositions as always :)

Gorgeous! Your pieces are my favourite for today :-)
Hi Heather, your collages are great for this theme. Love the colors. This is the first time I have played this challenge, way behind as usual, but the artwork has been awesome.

Beautiful post and collages!
I think we have a love/hate relationship with water here in Oz. Yesterday, on a day when the temperature reached 110degF, a shark spotter plane filmed a group of 17 huge hammerhead sharks playing and sunning themselves half a mile off shore. Needless to say, the beaches were closed to swimmers on what could be the hottest day of summer.
Heather, your two pieces on your relationship with water and with the questions you ask yourself about the Titanic disaster are superb. Absolutely beautiful and thought-provoking.
A huge standing ovation from me!
