Think Monday, Think ATC - Buttons

Did your Mother or Grandmother have a button jar? Mine did and I used to spend hours dumping it out and sorting out the buttons by size, by colour. I had favourites, ones that intrigued me in particular and I used to imagine the piece of clothing that they had been taken from. In art, I tend to favour the small white or clear ones. This is my entry for the Think Monday, Think ATC challenge this week.

My grandmother had a button basket that had a lid. My mother used that same basket. I have the basket now but my sister got all the buttons.

Your background is awesome, Heather. And I love the extra touch of the flowers.

Heather...
I love your art piece & I LOVE Old Buttons! I like the sound of them clinking together in a jar. I like the process of pouring them out & sorting them by color & size, I like the texture of buttons. I like the idea of a time & a place without the luxury of Velcro or zippers or snaps, the simplicity of a button directly connects us with the past. Your post reminded me of that...Thanks Heather!!!
Big Smiles & a wink, ;)
