The Three Muses - Up, Up and Away

Watching all of the nesting activity and subsequently the "training" of the baby birds that are hatched in the nests inspired these pages. I can sense the frustration and weariness of the parents as they guide their little ones around showing them how to hunt food and stay away from danger. Their babies are loud and demanding. I used funny descriptions out of a vintage bird book to describe the feelings of the parents and human babies to illustrate that the experience of humans and birds when it comes to offspring is similar. This is my entry for the Three Muses Challenge this week.

Heather, your collages are so wonderful! I could look at all the details again and again. And the quotes are super.

I'm not sure, but that owl looks as if he could be kidnapping that baby for ransom! Momma better pay attention. Mom & Pop bird have been failures here at my house this spring. I have an all-glass front storm door directly across from double windows, and the kindergarden birds seem to think it's a freeway. Three have flown into my door. When I've heard the thud, I've looked, to discover a rather dazed and dumb-looking neophyte sitting on my welcome mat! I'm sure they're thinking "talk about a glass ceiling"!!!

Heather, these are just adorable! I love the babies you used...I just want to cuddle them...although I have a feeling them might not sit still for that for TOO long! ~Lori

Birds sure look like they have their work cut out for them....wonder if the cuteness of the babes makes up for it? ( Trying to cast back in my memory for the answer...but no go )
Nice job,and Happy Canada Day!

Heather, these are refreshing & sweet! I can totally relate to *the babies leaving the nest* being a parent of 3 teenagers! It's harder than when they were young!
