Mixed Media Monday - Come Fly with Me

I'm not a smoker but I will admit that I do like the faint smell of cigars that emanates from the wood of cigar boxes as I work on them. These little girls are images from PaperWhimsy. I layered beeswaxed papers including vintage ledger paper behind them then built up the assemblage pieces on top finishing with lace. It's difficult to capture the depth of the collage in the photo. Hey, what could be better than children sitting atop of birds?LOL These are my entries for Mixed Media Monday this week

What beautiful boxes, Heather. We used to make all sorts of things from cigar boxes like doll beds and such. This is a wonderful use for them. Love the kids on back of the birds.

These are wonderful, Heather--love the color, images, and depth of your work! You always find the coolest quotes, too--I just visited our nearest library branch today--one of my favorite places in the world is the public library, and I thought of you. I wish I'd been able to get a degree in library science versus the one I got in English--I think it would have served me better, jobwise! Have a great week!
