Theme Thursday - Vintage Valentine Theme

Well, I didn't manage to get any Christmas cards made so perhaps I can turn over a new leaf and start my Valentine's Day cards with the hope that they'll be ready to be mailed in time. I don't know about you but I love surprising friends with little cards similar to those we used to exchange in elementary school. If I recall, we had to make and decorate boxes for them with slots. It was quite an exciting day to receive and compare cards. I can still recall some of the corny but endearing sayings on them. These are my entries for Theme Thursday this week.

Your comments led me down memory lane, and the trading of corny valentines in school! Wasn't it fun? I love your little "ladies", and their recipients will be oh so happy!

Love the cards. What a great idea to "make up" for not sending Christmas cards. I usually make New Year's cards when I don't get the Christmas cards out on time, but I missed BOTH this time - YIKES! I think I'm going to work on some V-day cards and see if I can get THOSE out on time. LOL

Thanks for the inspiration this morning, and thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday :)

Lovely Valentines, Heather. I, too, remember the excitement of exchanging cards in grade school for Valentines Day. Wished I'd saved some of them!

I LOVE them, Heather! I have such fond memories of exchanging valentines in elementary school! And like you, my Christmas cards never got in the mail this year, so what a great idea to surprise your friends with valentines! I just might borrow that idea....

these are so pretty! I always loved the Valentines party at school....The cookies with pink frosting and opening valentines! We always made big envelopes that the other kids slipped them into. I still like to make hearts! Melinda
