TGIF - Santa Claus is Coming to Town

I was chuckling to myself as I created this round robin journal page. I used a gentleman's image from my stock of vintage photographs. I envisioned him playing Santa at Christmas, getting all dolled up in his beard and his hat and appearing at the door of his house where all of the children were waiting. When it was all over, he'd quickly and quietly store all the pieces of his costume away until next year. Honestly, I construct whole lives for these vintage folks. I think I'm still playing paper dolls to tell you the truth! This is my entry for this week's TGIF challenge.

It is wonderful. Love your story behind this gentleman. Reminded me of my youthful days when I'd make up stories when I was playing with my dolls - ah those wonderful days of make believe.

- Amazing !! I love all the details you've created and the row of Santas at the bottom of the card - I can imagine them as all the little children waiting for the 'big' Santa to show :-)

Fabulous. Love all the Santa heads on the bottom. Did you forget to feed Santa? He's a little thin. But fabulous none the less.

This is a wonderful art work Heather. I love looking at the enlarged picture and studying all the elements and details. This Santa is very handsome and debonair, very unexpected as a Santa. It totally works with the whole piece.

Regarding the paper doll reference, oh my gosh, I totally, totally loved playing with paper dolls when I was young. I'll just bet you and I would've had a great time playing with paper dolls together as kids.

Actually, I love to see stories for the inspiration of the piece. Yes, it is a little like paper dolls. Little girls of today have no idea what they've lost out on.
