Mixed Media Monday - What You Loved Doing in 2008

Every year I set goals for myself....nothing that I actually commit to paper but they are in the back of my mind. I do this for my art as well. This year I decided to seek out online courses and to learn techniques using acrylic paint. I also wanted to try my hand at assemblage. I began with altering altoid tins and worked my way into bigger assemblages. I always admired the detail in assemblage and found that I took great pleasure in layering and strategizing the composition of each piece. This is one that I created for a dear friend of mine for a personal swap and it is my entry for this week's Mixed Media Monday challenge.

Wow Heather, this piece is awesome. I love all the detail and the theme. I have yet to attempt doing an assemblage. This piece is very inspiring! Perhaps in 2009 I'll get around to making my first one. One can hope anyway. Great job, and something different from you. Good for you, I love it!
