Daily Art Stop (Challenge Wednesday) - Dolls

Did you have a favourite doll growing up? Perhaps you preferred stuffed animals? Barbie dolls? I just recently stumbled across a box full of my beloved dolls and stuffed animals. The dolls had serious box hair and all looked very well worn....I mean loved. They brought back so many memories. There was such comfort in holding them while sucking on my thumb (yes I did that and need braces!!) after Mom and Dad turned the light out and pulled the door closed. This is my entry for this week's Daily Art Stop (Challenge Wednesday).

What a beautiful collage - and you have taken me back to my childhood. I was a toddler during WW2 and everything was rationed so it was necessary for parents to make toys for their children. I had a jester doll, not unlike the one in your collage. It was just a home made, of inferior fabric, stuffed with rags jester but it was my favourite for years. Thanks for the memory.

That came out so sweet! My favorite doll growing up was a floppy sort of thing that looked like Marianne from Gilligan's Island, so that's what I named her. I still remember her picktails and pink dress.
