Saturday's Workout - Antique Paper

It is a great deal of fun to "antique" a bunch of tags for future use and that is exactly what I did with the one on this card. I diluted instant coffee in water and let a bunch of tags of various sizes sit in the solution for a while. Where the coffee granules didn't quite disintegrate, darker brown marks appear adding to the aged look. This is my entry for this week's Saturday's Workout challenge.

Hi art buddy. I love this piece, it's so vintage, and so you. And I'm so impressed with the amount of art you produce. (I've been in an art "dead zone" for too long now.) And the idea of antiqueing tags is a great one. I don't have any instant coffee, but I'm wondering if immersing tags in used coffee grounds might work? I suppose it's worth a try.

I do a lot of my antiqueing with wax shoe polish out of the round tin. Perhaps I'll try a crumpled up tag, rubbed with brown shoe polish. Yes, I'm into crumpling for texture.

I'm looking forward to our upcoming swap -- it makes my heart sing. Hugs.
