Think Monday, Think ATC - Mother Nature

Well, the theme for Think Monday, Think ATC couldn't be more apt! I have been missing from the blogging world for a few days and I promise I have a good excuse. A girlfriend and I were enjoying mother nature in a more basic fashion. We decided to "rough it" at a cottage with no electricity and...um...well....outdoor facilities. We read Hollywood magazines by propane lamp and candle, fed the wood burning stove all day and night for heat and washed our dishes by heating water on that very same stove. The simpler lifestyle just seemed to promote long, heart-felt talks, lots of laughs as well as a truer appreciation of the beauty of the autumn leaves, the sky at night filled with stars and the lonely cries of the loons. What a blessing to have wonderful women friends.

I love your little blue bird.
Your get-away sounds wonderful
even without modern conveniences.

I wondered where you were!!!! Sounds like it was uh, well, uh, "different"!! lol!!! I love the reading Hollywood gossip rags by propane lamp and candle, but that outhouse stuff...ugh!!! I hated it when we were kids - my grandfather had cabins in Haliburton and I just loathed having to use those -- not just because of the big 'ole hole...they smelled so bad!! ;)

Love your piece here Heather -- it's very nature indeed!!!

Wonderful women friends (and sisters) are one of the best things in life but I would need indoor plumbing and central heating at this time of year in the northern hemisphere! Gorgeous ATC lots of lovely colour.

This is gorgeous, Heather. Yes, it's important to hang onto your girl friends. I still keep up with the activities of 3 of my grammar school friends from 60 years ago.

Lovely nature piece Heather. Also like the sounds of your roughing it. Brings back memories of growing up. When I was 13 my parent told me we were moving and I thought it was great until I was told where. My first responce was You can't do this they don't even have flush toilets!!!! But they did it anyway. Never got indoor plumbing until after I graduated and moved from home.
