Theme Thursday - People with Wings

I don't know about you but I find the creative process fascinating. It used to worry me a lot more than it does now. I've learned to just let it take me where it will, sometimes with surprising result. These round robin journals are not at all what I had initially envisioned. My theme was "Birds, eggs, nests" and the colour scheme was robin's egg blue, sepia, cream. I started by painting the background then pulled out a new collage sheet I had purchased with fantastically whimsical birds on it. I leafed through my collection of vintage photos and found that I had quite a few amazing babies. I started playing with the combination of birds and babies. I then remembered that I had pages from vintage bird books. While reading them I found myself laughing and thinking that bird parents have many of the same challenges and responsibilities as human babies. I cut out phrases that reflected this and my "Bird Babes" pages were born. These pages are my entry for this week's Theme Thursday challenge.

These are so fun-- I especially like the baby who is being carried away by the owl -- looks a bit concerned, but not too terrified!
