Layers of Color Challenge - Celebrate the Sea

The sea to me signifies mystery, power, beauty and also tragedy. I have always been fascinated by shipwrecks and events in history that were shaped by the sea such as the Titanic tragedy. I am in awe of the grandeur of the ship, the different classes and how they experienced life at sea so very differently and the stories of the passengers on the vessel. The sea claimed so many of the lives aboard the Titanic in such a short space of time and changed history forever. I hope that I manage to capture this power and tragedy in these round robin pages. "Celebrate the Sea" is the Layers of Color Challenge this week.

Great pieces! I share your awe of the sea. I have almost always lived right near it - but have never been a big boating fan because of my respect for it's power!

These are great. I'm no stranger to the power of the sea, having crossed the Gulf of Alaska to the North Pacific and on to the Aleutian Islands. Awesome and powerful, it makes us realize how humble we must be.
