Canada Day Giveaway

I always feel quite emotional on Canada Day (which will be tomorrow, July 1st). One of the first songs that my Mom taught me when I was a little girl was "Oh Canada". She'd have me stand up, hands at my sides, and practise with her while she played the piano. Whenever we attended events and the anthem was sung, we'd be among the first to stand. She always expressed dismay when others didn't give the anthem the same respect. I've travelled this country of mine from east to west and am amazed by its beauty from the mountains in the west to the hilly shores of the east and everything in between. I would like to have a draw in honour of Canada for this little altered tin that I created yesterday. All you have to do is leave a comment on my blog anytime from today until the end of Friday. Just make sure that I am able to contact you if you are the winner.

Your country is beautiful. I have travelled through on the way to and from Alaska and always enjoy the changing vistas. The little towns I have visited, passing through have always been so clean and well taken care of. I was quite impressed by that. Haven't made it (yet) to the eastern provinces. but I love BC and ALberta so much.

This is just beautiful, Heather, as is everything you create! We are not Canadian, but my husband loves your national anthem and sometimes will just break out into song in the car or at home and sing it! It's funny because I've never heard him do that with the "Star Spangled Banner!" I admire you for being so loyal and loving your country so much. I feel the same way about mine, and you can always see the tears in my eyes whenever I hear our anthem or when I'm watching ANY kind of parade! Take care, xo, Jann

I must toss my name in the hat, Heather. Canada is a much more closer neighbor than the rest of the U.S. (the Lower 48) and this Alaskan celebrates both Canada Day and the 4th of July. Our last nine summer vacations have been spent anywhere from the Yukon to Newfoundland and points in between, often catching Canada Day celebrations throughout. Beautiful tin!

It's kind of unfashionable to be patriotic in the UK but I think that's a shame. Well done you for being proud of your home. PS what a gorgeous giveaway, hope it's MINE!!

Hi Heather! I adore this little tin...aren't they fun to do? I wouldn't have thought to outline the child's image in gold like you did...and the little bird is just perfect!

Funny, I was about to comment on it when I realized it was a give away!

Good luck all!
