Mixed Media Monday - Maps

I used maps, the theme for this week's Mixed Media Monday, to denote travel and adventure in this round robin page with Christopher Columbus as the theme. I love this portrait of him as he does indeed seem to be pondering something...I took the liberty of deciding that he was asking himself whether the world was round or flat?!

Hi Heather, you are so sweet, thanks for the really nice comments on my site. I wanted you to know that I watched my 1st video tonight of my art class. I can't believe how much I learned in just 25 minutes! Hope tomorrow night I can start my canvas. I really like your Christopher Columbus, love the maps that you used. Hugs***Renea

I LOVE your piece!! This is fun and beautiful!!! I never did understand that part of history and how the "flat" question could have been debated when as far back as Ovid's Metamorphosis it was known and talked about that the world was round. Oh well...just another strage question of mine that we'll never know the answer to. GREAT piece!!!

Thanks so much for popping by my blog -I really appreciate it. I feel so primarily coloured and what you see is what you get with my cards at the moment. I hanker after a more mysterious and elegant style which you do so beautifully. Methinks I don't get here often enough to indulge in a mystical moment! Will try harder!
Love,
