Step Outside Your Box Saturdays - Abstract

I get excited even thinking about creating these cards....it is weirdly relaxing to me. They are made by dropping food colouring....yes, food colouring.....onto hot press watercolour paper, adding salt then squishing plastic wrap on top. I make up sheets and sheets at a time then mount them in die cut cards and name them. The naming part is....well don't even get me started! These are my submissions for "Step Outside Your Box Saturdays" this week with the theme of "Abstract".

Hi Heather. These are really great. I'm wondering how this would work with coffee filters??? They seem to be quite absorbent, so maybe I'll have to try this. Thanks for the idea.

BTW, I'm now tagging you, cuz I just got tagged.

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

Enjoy!!!

These are beautiful. They almost look like dyed fabric.

Heather,
How creative, girl!! I used to love to make watercolor paper earrings. I always gessoed, painted, then embellished. I bet the food coloring would work great for the earrings. Very, very inspiring!

Thanks so much for reminding me to try this technique... I'd forgotten all about it!
Your examples are absolutely lovely and inspired my own 'abstract' piece!
