Encaustic Collage Calendar Covers

One of my other artistic goals on vacation was to try my hand at encaustic collage. I had signed up for an online course with Carol Murphy at Joggles before I left so I took my instruction sheets and materials with me. Here are the covers I created for my 2008 4" X 4" calendars.

P.S. If you haven't checked out the courses that Joggles offers, have a look. They are amazing.

Fab work, Heather. I went to an encaustic workshop once, and know how tricky that is. Superb work!
Glad you are back and being creative.

This is fabulous pages! Colors are great.
Went over to Joggles but couldn't find an explanation as what encaustic collage is. I'm thinking you build layer upon layer and lacquer in between?

Thank you for your wonderful comments everyone! The course was actually a summer course. Since the Fall courses have just been introduced, the description has been removed. To make these I used a central image, stamped white tissue paper torn and layered on the white paper. Clear wax was applied on top then accented with coloured.

Gorgeous, gorgeous use of color! These brightly-colored vintage images lend themselves PERFECTLY to the colors that you've used with your encaustics. Truly a lovely combination and mixture of the two!
