Think Monday - Think ATC Challenge - Hallowe'en

This is my artist trading card for the Think Monday-Think ATC challenge with the theme of "Hallowe'en" this week.

PaperWhimsy Fairy at Home

We were challenged to create an assemblage with a PaperWhimsy image depicting where a fairy lives in our home. This is mine.... I live with three birds and one is a comsummate egg layer. One or the other of the birds seems to be preparing for the inevitable eggs by shredding paper so I ran a piece of music through our shredder to make the "nest". The mother bird is sitting on the nest while the father bird stands watch. This is also my submission for a new challenge site called Theme Thursday and also Mixed Media Monday.

The theme for 4 X 4 Friday this week is "Dream, Inspire, Create". At least one of those three words needs to be used in your art piece. Both of these 4" X 4"s were created for a calendar. The bottom one is a cover piece.

Skinny Saturday Challenge - Childhood

I remember the excitement I felt around Hallowe'en and the smell and sound of the leaves on the semi-dark evenings I went trick or treating. This is my piece for the Skinny Saturday challenge this week with "Childhood" as the theme.

On another note, I will be drawing names for the Blog Art Giveaway after work today so there is still time to leave a blog message if you would like any of the pieces listed. There will be a couple of extras that I worked on this weekend including this one.

Gothic Arch Challenge - Flowers

This week's Gothic Arch Challenge is flowers. I very much enjoy using real flowers on my artwork. I apply them with a think layer of beeswax then coat them very gently with the wax. It preserves them beauifully.

Finally, here is my submission for Fluffy Fatbottom's Twisted Tuesdays....just in time, I might add. The theme is "Fish out of Water". I just had a vision of this young lad riding a fish like children sometimes ride their dogs! The poor fish is crying out for help.

Altered Pages Design Team First Project

I am now a proud member of the Altered Pages design team and completed my first project on the weekend, a 4" X 4" calendar, that is now a kit for purchase. This is my October page.
