Home Needed

I made this art doll that my DH calls my "space cowboy" while away on vacation. It too was created with a kit from Mimsie's Whimsies. This fellow needs a new home. If you would be interested in having a "space cowboy" come to live with you, just leave me a comment. I'll draw a name on Monday.

First of all, I'd like to thank a very sweet and talented friend who has redesigned my blog banner and helped improve my blog in general. You are wonderful!

Here are couple of atcs that I created with Kristin Hubick's wonderfully unique Hallowe'en images.

Winter Round Robin Book Pages

I am participating in a winter round robin project using PaperWhimsy images. These pages are for Lizzy's wonderful house-shaped book with the theme "Home for the Holidays" (which coincidentally is also my theme!)

A Tribute to Stay-at-Home Moms

My Mom was a stay-at-home Mom and as I grow older I appreciate how much that meant to me then and now.

Encaustic Collage Calendar Covers

One of my other artistic goals on vacation was to try my hand at encaustic collage. I had signed up for an online course with Carol Murphy at Joggles before I left so I took my instruction sheets and materials with me. Here are the covers I created for my 2008 4" X 4" calendars.

P.S. If you haven't checked out the courses that Joggles offers, have a look. They are amazing.

I purchased two sheets of fantastic Hallowe'en images from Kristin Hubick and found them so inspirational that I created these three 4" X 4"s for calendars that I am creating. Aren't the images marvelous?

Lovely Break but Glad to be Back

Good Morning. Thank you to all of you who continued to check my blog despite the fact that I didn't post for a couple of weeks. I had a lovely vacation by a beautiful lake in northern Ontario and had lots of art time!....what a pleasure. I decided I wanted to challenge myself while away and try some new techniques. One of my challenges was to create art dolls. With the help of Mimsie's Whimsies who sells marvelous kits, I set to work. This is my fairy art doll photographed while at the cottage. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with all of you and seeing what YOU'VE been creating while I've been gone.

Brief Hiatus

I am going to take a two-week hiatus from blogging so that I can devote lots of time to creating art. Before I go, I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you visiting my blog and leaving such wonderful comments. I had no idea that blogging would introduce me to so many fantastic and talented artists. See you in a couple of weeks.
